I founded a school.
II founded a school. How?
In 2021 I packed up my family and left the UK in the middle of a pandemic.
Not because I had a grand plan. Not because it made sense.
And definitely not because it was easy.
I just knew: This wasn’t it.
Something inside said,
“You’re building the wrong life.”
It put me in hospital. Twice.
Took me away fromy family.
So we left.
Not to escape, but to begin again. Be together. Really together. Be wilder.
Human Be-ings, not Human Do-ings.
Memories. The world.
We didn’t know what would come next. That was the point. Unlearn all the things that had kept us stuck.
Harder than it sounds.
But when you unlearn, you make space for all the new stuff. Like educating your kids differently.
Capturing curiosity. Barefoot possibilities. Skills, tools and life lessons. Watching adaptability grow. Confidence bloom.
Once you see your kids grab life like this, kinda doesn’t make sense to ‘go back’.
For them or for us.
And it always seemed like kids are being educated for a future that won’t exist by the time they get there.
So I planned what I thought a school should be like. Anticipate what future our kids are walking into. And waited.
Now, years later, we chose Bali as our new home.
Right place, right time, right people, right plan.
That’s how the best things happen, I think.
You say yes to the quiet voice.
You go.
And then you build what you wish existed.
And now it does.
